The acclaimed Llugwy River Restaurant has developed a reputation for using the finest of local Welsh ingredients and was awarded its first AA rosette in 2003.

Bringing you some of Wales’ finest produce to the plate with a modern twist. Incorporating both their love of travel and food they have a wealth of knowledge and ideas that develop into specilaites like organic goats cheese and black olive ice cream….this has to be tasted to be believed… truly a taste sensation..!

Following on from our taster menu, which brought together quality seasonal ingredients from local suppliers, our dedicated team have developed an outstanding a la carte menu to deliver you a true taste experience in modern Welsh cooking.

The menu is revised weekly ensuring only seasonal quality ingredients are used guaranteeing you the freshest food and flavours of Wales, from world famous Welsh Lamb to mussels from the Menai Straits

Our wine list

Our extensive wine list features old and new world wines especially chosen to accompany the flavours that our menus offer, reviewed four times a year we work closely with Ffarm Vintners, a small local independent wine company who offer an eclectic selection of wines from around the world, to offer an exciting and varied range from independent wine growers who have a passion for what they do! You wont find any of our wines on a supermarket shelf!

It also features Champagne by leading vintner Louis Roederer and a large selection of wines by the glass.


The restaurant is also available for conferences, banquets, weddings, private dining and other special occasions – please contact our groups co-ordinator Barbara Lynch, for further information on private hire

Opening Times and Reservations

High Season Opening times (21st March 2018): Wednesday-Saturday from 6.30pm until 8.45pm and for    Sunday Lunch from 12:00pm until 2:30pm followed by High Tea from 3-5pm (booking advisable)

Bank Holiday Sundays: 12:00pm-2:30pm, 6:30pm-8:45pm (booking advisable)

Low Season Opening Times: Sunday Lunch 12:00pm-2:30pm

February Half Term 2018 :Wednesday-Saturday from 6.30pm until 8.45pm and for    Sunday Lunch from 12:00pm until 2:30pm followed by High Tea from 3-5pm  (booking advisable)

Please check with the reservations team for our full availability when booking, as on occasions we are fully booked with private dining groups.

And now for something totally new….. as of late October 2017 the Llugwy will start serving a high tea…. ohh lazy Sunday afternoons with macaroons and earl grey in front of the fire…
